Acid reflux is a common condition that happens when stomach acid flows back up into the esophagus (your food pipe). Contrary to popular belief, acid reflux is not caused by too much stomach acid but rather it’s the result of acid going to the wrong place.
One common home remedy for acid reflux is baking soda. If you suffer from Acid Reflux or heartburn, rather than taking a toxic antacid tablet, which can contain GMO and other dangerous ingredients, try this simple and effective remedy.
Baking soda works to neutralize stomach acid and effectively relieve some symptoms of indigestion and heartburn.
For most people, heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion occur due to a lack of stomach acid (HCl), and not too much of it. If you are not producing enough stomach acid, the food will churn longer inside the stomach and remain there for hours. Therefore, if the food does not keep moving on through the GI tract, it sits in the stomach and ferments causing some discomfort that feels like reflux.
