Have you ever looked at the back of a bottle of insect repellent you often purchase at the store? You`ll see chemical names like N-diethyl-meta-toluamide, N-diethyl-3-methyl-benzamide, 2-hydroxyethyl, and 1-methylpropyl.

The active ingredient in many insect repellents, deet, has been proven to be toxic to the central nervous system.  In fact, the National Centers for Poison Control receives reports of up to 5,000 cases of poisoning which is related to deet. Studies also find that rats have experienced behavioral changes after being exposed to this chemical compound frequently. The exposure to deet can cause the death of neurons in parts of the brain which leads to memory, learning and muscle movement problems.

USE NATURAL METHODS TO REPEL BUGS

Cloves are good at repelling flies, flies hate the subtle scent of cloves. Cloves are  also effective at repelling other insects. In fact, an essential oil made from cloves repels mosquitoes, and is often used in many bug repelling products.

Flies hate cloves and they hate lemon too. So, we will combine both of them to make a powerful fly repellent.

  • Take 2 lemons, cut them into halves.
  • Next, poke 6 – 12 cloves into each half of the lemon as shown.
  • Now, place the clove decorated lemons on a plate in the middle of your picnic table. You will be amazed to see that no fly or other insects will come near you.

ADDITIONALLY, TAKE VITAMIN B1 TO REPEL MOSQUITOS.

Did you know that Vitamin B1 is the only one that has been scientifically proven to repel mosquitos. Vitamin B1 helps repel mosquitos because it is able to mask the natural odors that mosquitos are attracted to.
