Is the cleaner you’re using safe to use? Often we don’t realize what these commercial cleaners are leaving behind. In fact, I’m not sure which is more dangerous, the germs in your house or the chemicals that killed the germs.

Homemade Natural Cleaning Products - The Maids

This is why learning how to make your own homemade cleaners is very beneficial for your health. Not only will it save you money, but will kill the germs effectively.  Plus, these cleaners are very easy to make.

All you need is white vinegar, baking soda, dish soap and essential oils.

HOMEMADE ALL-PURPOSE CLEANER

  • 1 part vinegar
  • 2 parts water
  • 10-12 drops of Tea Tree or Lavender Essential Oil

Combine everything together in a spray bottle and shake. Use on countertops, tabletops, porcelain or floors.

HOMEMADE GLASS OR WINDOW CLEANER

  • 1 part vinegar
  • 2 parts water

Mix in a spray bottle and shake well. Spray on windows, mirrors, glass doors, etc. For a streak-free shine, try using newspapers to clean windows instead of paper towels. If you’re afraid of getting ink on your hands, just wear gloves.

TUB AND TILE CLEANER

  • 1 2/3 baking soda
  • 1/2 natural liquid soap
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

In a jar or spray bottle, combine  baking soda and the liquid soap.

Add  water and vinegar. Shake before using.

Apply with a cloth or sponge and rinse well.

MILDEW REMOVER

  • 1 part vinegar
  • 1 part water
  • tea tree essential oil
  • lemon essential oil (optional)

Combine all the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake it to mix.

HOMEMADE OVEN CLEANER

  • 1/4 c. of baking soda
  • 2 T. natural dish detergent
  • 1 T. distilled white vinegar

Mix baking soda and dish detergent together. Add distilled white vinegar, just a little bit at a time, to make a runny glue-like texture. Paint or brush onto caked-on greasy surfaces and let sit for 15-30 minutes.

DIY SOFT SCRUB CLEANER

  • 2tbsp baking soda
  • 1-2tbsp water
  • 5drops lemon essential oil

Mix baking soda with water in a small bowl to make a thick paste. Add lemon essential oil and mix well. Apply paste directly to stained area and scrub until stains are gone.
