A healthy diet is the core of a healthy life

When it comes to the human body, whole health is so important. When we struggle with our health – either physically, emotionally, or even mentally – it is important to remember that there are always avenues that can be there to help. They may not be immediately obvious, but they are always there. Mental health struggles, for example, can be treated through traditional therapy or TMS treatment. Emotional health issues are largely treated with therapy and prescribed medications. Our physical health, on the other hand, is treated best with consistent exercise and physical activity and a healthy, balanced diet.

What we put into our bodies has a way of impacting the way we look and feel. More than anything else, a diet rich in healthy foods is crucial to our body’s physical health. And more and more often, one of the most popular diets is increasingly becoming the plant-based diet. When it comes down to it, the reality is that we do not necessarily need meat in our diets to stay healthy. There are 300,000 edible plant species in the USA alone, and only three of them – wheat, rice, and corn – make up nearly 60% of calories. We are literally surrounded by the viable food source options that come from the earth, and yet many of us ignore this fact.

But regardless of if we choose to keep meat in our diets or to phase it out completely – or sit somewhere in the middle – what is most important is that we understand the inherent value of putting natural, healthy fats, sugars, and energy into our bodies. Exercise is fantastic for the body, it really is. There is no doubt that regularly exercising has a positive effect on the human body’s appearance and feeling. That much is true. But the reality is that exercise can only do so much on its own.

On the other hand, having a consistently healthy diet has an especially positive impact on the body. The reason why is simple: the quality of the foods we digest outweighs everything else. We want our bodies to look and feel their best, so it only makes logical sense that we put in the effort and the work to make that a reality. When we feed our bodies with a variety of healthy foods and drinks, such as fruits, vegetables, fatty fish (like salmon, for example), and lean meats (if any meat), our body responds by enjoying the healthy input we are consciously actioning.

And then, on the other hand, when we eat an unhealthy diet that consists of unnecessary and processed sugars and fats, our body cannot digest them in the same way it can with healthy alternatives. The result is that physically we begin to change. The saying is true, then…we are what we eat. When it comes down to it, maintaining a healthy diet is half about mental power. We can insist that we want to lead healthier, more well-balanced lives all we want, but if we do not go out of our way to action that ideal, there is not much that can be done.
