Hydrogen peroxide has also been used in many countries to preserve milk where there is no refrigeration. It has been used to sanitize hospitals for years as it is such a broad-spectrum germ killer.
According to the CDC, “Hydrogen peroxide is active against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, yeasts, fungi, viruses, and spores .” Specifically, it has been found to kill E. coli, Streptococcus species, H1N1 virus, and norovirus.
SO HOW CAN YOU MAKE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE WORK FOR YOU?
Unsurprisingly, hydrogen peroxide can be used as natural cures for various conditions. For example,you can make a nasal spray by using one tablespoon of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide in a cup of non-chlorinated water. It’s an effective treatment for sinus infections.
Toothaches or bad breath:Use a cap full of hydrogen peroxide as a mouth rinse to help whiten teeth and kill germs that cause bad breath
Treating a cold: If you think you’re coming down with a cold, fight it off by placing a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in your ears each morning.
Fungal infections: Use a 50–50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and water, sprayed on the feet every night to get rid of athlete’s foot and other fungal infections.
For Killing Viruses
Did you know that your immune cells actually produce hydrogen peroxide. This is in part how your immune system kills infected cells. Hydrogen peroxide therapy aids your immune cells to perform their natural function more effectively. By killing the infected cell, viral reproduction is stopped.
The only grade recommended for internal use is 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide, which must be properly diluted down to 3% with water.
REPLACE YOUR COSMETICS!
Make a germ-killing mouthwash, gargle with 3% hydrogen peroxide, and then rinse.
Make a toothpaste: Place 1 tsp. of baking soda in a glass jar or small bowl, then add 3% hydrogen peroxide, drop by drop, until it mixes into a thick paste. You can also use 6% hydrogen peroxide for a whitening effect.
Detox your skin: Just mix 2 quarts of hydrogen peroxide into a full bathtub and soak for half an hour or more.
BLEACH YOUR HAIR: Because it is more gentle than household bleach, hydrogen peroxide is also great for lightening hair.
HOUSEHOLD USES
To remove pesticides, spray vegetables and fruits with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide and then rinse.
For the dishwasher, add 2 oz. of 3% hydrogen peroxide to the regular washing formula.
In place for bleach: add 8 oz. of 3% hydrogen peroxide to the wash!
