For a child, a doll is the most pleasant and memorable toy. Imagine instead, if the doll looked like a youngster with special needs.
Amy Yandrisevitz, a citizen of the United States, sews dolls for children with disabilities. All these stuffed animals have an essential mission: to help only children.
Amy Yandrisewitz, a former social worker, started her “A Doll Like Me” project more than a year ago. Since then, the lady sews and distributes her handmade gifts to unique children around the world. The dolls owned by Amy have the same characteristics as their owners.
Generally, children are fascinated by small versions of themselves. All Amy dolls have one vital purpose: to show the child that they are unique and wonderful just the way they are.
Amy created her first doll almost five years ago, and since then it has been her main interest. Amy said: “It can be hard to convince a youngster that they are wonderful just the way they are, but our dolls give children confidence and a sense of their own individuality. »
Orders placed by Amy are expected over the next two years. She invests a little of her soul in each doll since for her and the eventual owner, it is not just a toy.
A lady creates dolls in her own room. Amy easily incorporates her passions for children, crafts and social work.
