Every summer, you confront your favorite swimsuit with external aggressions: sea water, chlorine, sand, rough poolside surfaces and sunscreen stains. How can you make sure you keep your trendy bikini intact over several years? Here is our tip for maintaining and cleaning a swimsuit.
Why soak your swimsuit in vinegar?
Are your swimsuits encrusted with stubborn stains? There is a miracle cure that should solve all your problems: white vinegar. Indeed, like baking soda, this natural product is a formidable cleaner and stain remover that quickly eliminates all kinds of stains.
Additionally, it is also whitening and deodorizing. In our opinion, this is the perfect recipe for extending the life of your swimsuits. Likewise, for general maintenance, rinse your swimsuits by hand after each swim to remove all dirt embedded in the fabric.
How should you proceed?
Instructions for use: you can soak a damp cloth with the product and gently rub (without pressure) the areas where the stains are visible. But it is also possible to use white vinegar as a conditioner in the washing machine. Please note that if you opt for machine washing, do not mix your swimsuits with other clothes, choose the delicate program and the cold wash cycle. In any case, to avoid over-relaxing your pieces, it is always best to wash them by hand with a mild cleanser.
Warning: many people make the mistake of drying their swimsuits directly in the sun. This is a very bad idea since the rays can fade all the colors and damage the fabric. To avoid washing them out, choose a shaded place and do not wring them out before spreading them out.
