Want to clean your dirty and tarnished tiles? Want them to regain all their shine and luster, as if they were brand new? It’s possible!
To clean your tiles, you don’t need to resort to expensive chemicals. My grandmother was a household fairy. She had her secrets for removing stains and giving shine and luster to all terracotta tiles, whether white or black.
1 – LINSEED OIL TO MAKE DOUBLE TILES SHINE
Some materials need care and lose their shine over time. This is especially true for terracotta, cement, and even ceramic tiles. And of all natural ingredients, linseed oil is undoubtedly the best for caring for these tiles! However, be careful: just a few drops on a clean cloth are enough to make the tiles shine, without turning them into an ice rink. So be careful and let the oil absorb well into the floor while drying. You can then reapply as needed.
2 – POTATO COOKING WATER
When cooking, don’t throw away the cooking water from boiled potatoes. Instead, use it to clean tiles. The starch contained in this solution absorbs the grease sticking to the surface. This process is recommended once a month to maintain the shine of the tiles.
3 – BLACK SOAP IS A NATURAL MULTI-SURFACE CARE PRODUCT

If black soap is essential for fans of the D-system, it’s because it’s an excellent cleaning agent. The reason: it’s a degreasing and disinfecting agent, suitable for tiles, linoleum, and even parquet. Its advantage is that it not only cleans dirty and dusty floors but also gives a touch of shine that you can’t do without. To benefit from this mixture of oil and black olives, you need to mix it with a liter of water in a bucket. If you want a flawless home, grab a mop and gently scrub each floor. Magical, right?
4 – WHITE VINEGAR

The most common method to make tiles shine is the use of white vinegar. There are two ways to do this:

Directly in the washing water: When preparing your usual washing water, pour 4 tablespoons of white vinegar into the bucket and then mop the floor. Discover here all our tips for taking care of your floor and properly cleaning your tiles.

After cleaning: After cleaning your tiles, prepare a bucket of hot water. Pour one or two glasses of white vinegar depending on the amount of water. Then polish with a mop or sponge. It is also possible to complete the preparation by adding baking soda.

5 – CHOOSE LEMON TO GIVE YOUR TILES SHINE

Once your tiles are completely clean, there’s one last step to make them shine again: polishing.

It’s very simple: Soak a sponge or mop in lemon juice and let it act for an hour. Lemon gives dirty and dull tiles all their shine and additionally provides a pleasant scent!

Finally, you can use a chamois to finish off a tiled countertop.

6 – LIQUID SOAP

If the tiles are very stained, simply add a few drops of a product that does not attack the cement joints, such as liquid hand soap or dishwashing detergent.

And that’s it! Also, the mop must be damp, it should not drip water! Dry with another dry microfiber mop.
