Pep Guardiola jokingly said that he will always be a failure at Manchester City because his long-time idol Julia Roberts visited rival club Manchester United instead of City. Guardiola revealed that Roberts is one of his idols, along with Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. He expressed disappointment that Roberts didn’t come to see his team play when she visited Manchester in 2016. Guardiola made the comments after City’s 7-0 win against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Despite his successful career, Guardiola said winning the Champions League would not compare to the disappointment of Roberts’ snub.
