TURMERIC FOR DOGS AND CATS

Turmeric is very beneficial for arthritic conditions in cats due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Turmeric is also known to help cats with autoimmune diseases, liver disorders  (increases detoxification of the liver) and heart and circulatory support.  It can reduce the risk of blood clotting and help lower the bad cholesterol (LDL).

HOW TO MAKE GOLDEN PASTE

  • ½ cup turmeric powder
  • ½ cup water
  • 1/3 cup cold-pressed oil like virgin coconut oil
  • 2-3 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper (optional)

Golden Paste Directions:

  • Mix the turmeric with 1/2 cup of  water in a pot. Add more  if needed.
  • Stir the mixture on low heat and in about 7 to 10 minutes, it should turn into a thick paste.
  • Add a bit more turmeric if the paste looks watery and heat it for another couple of minutes.
  • Once you’ve got a paste, add the pepper and oil, then mix it very well.
  • Allow the mixture to cool, then place it in a jar with a lid and store it in your fridge for about 2 weeks.

How to Use The Golden Paste

Start at a very low dose and increase slowly.

You can use golden paste short-term or long-term depending on your cat’s health.

Daily Dosage – Simple Guidelines

  • Minimum dose – 1/16 tsp per 10 lbs of body weight, 1x per day.
  • Standard dose – 1/8 tsp, per 10 lbs of body weight, 1x to 2x per day.
  • Maximum dose – varies per animal and condition being treated.
