Christina Aguilera isn’t having the best start to 2024.
On Wednesday, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer, 43, shared in on Instagram that she’s come down with “the new year flu” and needs to postpone some of her Las Vegas residency shows.
“AFTER WELCOMING YOU ALL TO THE NEW YEAR FROM THE STAGE IN LAS VEGAS. I’VE BEEN WELCOMED WITH A NEW YEAR FLU!!!” she wrote in a Story on the platform. “I AM SORRY TO SHARE THAT MY TWO SHOWS THIS WEEKEND WILL BE RESCHEDULED WHILE I REST – AND I CANNOT WAIT TO BE BACK ON THAT STAGE IN A FEW WEEKS.”
She added: “I’M INCREDIBLY PROUD OF THIS SHOW AND GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE SUPPORT AND LOVE AFTER OPENING WEEKEND! SEE YOU SOON 🤒 😷.”

The pop star kicked off her Las Vegas residency with a pair of shows on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31 ahead of 2024, where she performed a career-spanning set.
On New Year’s Day, Aguilera shared her gratitude for the experience on Instagram.
“✨ Tonight marks the beginning of a new chapter. I couldn’t think of a better way to bid farewell to this incredible year than to spend this night in LAS VEGAS with all of you, surrounded by your energy and enthusiasm. Cheers to the magical moments we’ll create, the music that will fill our hearts, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead🥂,” she wrote in a caption alongside a video montage of the past year.
In late December, she revealed a sneak peek rehearsal video of her residency in an Instagram clip of her singing “Guy What Takes His Time” from Burlesque, the 2010 film she made with Cher.
As the “Beautiful” artist practices the movie musical number, she flaunts her towering vocals and dance moves.

During the rehearsal, Aguilera can be seen clad in a pair of thigh-high black leather boots, a black jersey shirt-dress and a black satin baseball cap, with a pair of oversized black sunglasses.
“10 days ‘til show day 🎤,” she captioned the post.
The Burlesque actress will reportedly be executive producing a stage musical adaptation of the movie.
Entertainment Weekly reported in September that the stage adaptation — which is expected to premiere in the U.K. in the future — will be penned by Steven Antin, who wrote and directed the film and will allegedly include songs Aguilera, Sia and Diane Warren wrote for the film, as well as new music by Todrick Hall.
