Julia Roberts gifted a knitted blanket to Richard Curtis’ daughter, Scarlett, on the day Notting Hill premiered in 1999. Richard Curtis, a screenwriter and long-time friend of Julia, revealed this sweet gesture during an interview with her for her British Vogue cover debut. Julia had made the blanket herself while on set during the film production. She even went to Scarlett’s nursery school to personally give her the blanket. Julia also discussed her decision to avoid racy roles and her connection to feminist icon Gloria Steinem. She also shared her love for her husband Danny Moder and her reluctance to play a movie actress in Notting Hill. In fact, she wore her own clothes for the iconic “I’m just a girl” scene in the film.
