Cinnamon tea is not only delicious, it’s very beneficial for you. Cinnamon tea has been used to help with weight loss, strengthen the immune system and prevent chronic disease.

8 Health Benefits of Cinnamon Tea

Cinnamon is known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticancer and antimicrobial properties. Cinnamon tea is loaded with antioxidants. Cinnamon bark contains catechins, polyphenols and flavonoids that have free radical-scavenging properties. These antioxidants protect the body from oxidative stress caused by free radicals.

Moreover, cinnamon tea can strengthen the immune system and fight off pathogens. Cinnamon contains an active ingredient known as cinnamaldehyde that is known to effectively fight against fungal and bacterial infections.

ADDITIONALLY, CINNAMON TEA CAN HELP:

Lower blood sugar –A review of 9 studies which included 641 participants found that taking cinnamon reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure by an average of 6.2 mm Hg and 3.9 mm Hg, respectively.

Type 2 diabetes — A 2010 study discovered that certain substances in cinnamon “have been shown to have beneficial effects on essentially all of the factors associated with metabolic syndrome, including insulin sensitivity, glucose, lipids, antioxidants, inflammation, blood pressure, and body weight.”

Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s  disease—Drinking cinnamon tea may help protect the brain from neurological disease such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

A study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease found that Ceylon cinnamon inhibits the emergence of certain hallmarks of Alzheimer’s including tau. Tau are proteins that become defective and lead to symptoms including dementia and improper chemical signals in the brain

Lower inflammation

A study published in Food & Function found that Ceylon cinnamon was one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory foods due to cinnamic aldehyde present in the bark.
