Some people choose to get married before having children, while others prefer to do it the other way around, having children first and then possibly deciding to get married. However, there’s a third category of parents who believe they can combine these two events.
Among them are Michael Galardo and Mari Margaritondo from New Jersey, who decided to get married during childbirth. “We decided to have a child first and then get married,” they said.
The story of Michael Galardo and Mari Margaritondo began three years ago when they met at a mall. Last summer, the couple got engaged, but they couldn’t arrange the wedding due to complications in Mari’s pregnancy.
Shortly before the wedding date, Mari’s water broke, which triggered an unexpected start of labor. The medical staff began preparing her for a cesarean section, which posed a problem since Michael wasn’t officially her husband yet.
Thanks to attentive nurses, they arranged for a priest to be present, improvised with the flowers, and made it in time. Minutes later, a healthy and beautiful baby, Michael Preston, was born.
