Julia Roberts revealed on The Graham Norton Show that the 1990 film Pretty Woman was originally intended to be a much darker movie called $3,000. In the original script, her character Vivian was a drug addict and the film ended with her being left on the street by Richard Gere’s character. However, the production company folded, and Disney picked up the project, making it into a more lighthearted romantic comedy. Roberts also discussed her latest film, Leave The World Behind, and the involvement of Barack and Michelle Obama in the movie.
